The research group Virtual Theatre is part of the Research Centre for Theatre Making Processes, at the Faculty of Theatre, Utrecht School of the Arts Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The Research Centre for Theatre Making Processes initiates and produces many activities, projects and publication. By combining theory and practice expertise and knowledge is gathered to translate into educational frameworks and didactic methods.

The Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) offers preparatory courses, bachelor’s and master’s programs and research degrees in fine art, design, music, theatre, media, games and interaction and arts management.  Utrecht School of the Arts is one of the largest art and culture-oriented institutes in Europe.

 

ikkeHead of the research group Virtual Theatre is Joris Weijdom. A researcher, 3D computer animator and teacher at Design for Virtual Theatre and Games (DVTG) department of the faculty of Theatre of the HKU.

 

 

nirav_fotoHead of the Research Centre is Nirav Christophe, an internationally renowed writing lecturer and educationalist. Since 2005 professor in Theatre Making Processes at the HKU. His PhD focusses on the pedadogy of playwriting.

 

 

henny_fotoAssitant head is Henny Dörr, leader of the Research Group Scenography and Site-specific Theatre.  Also head of the scenography department of the faculty of Theatre of the HKU.
