Letters to...Working in theatre means working with different theatre disciplines. Adding interactive digital technology to the mix results into several extra non-theatre disciplines to the making proces. All these specialists use their own language, working methods and phasing of the working proces. To explore possibilities for finiding a platform for communication in-between all these disciplines the research group has introduced the usage of the software VUE. This choise is based on the assumption that both theatre and technology can work with a modular aproach to achieve flexibility in its making proces and potential outcome. To work out this line of thinking into practise, the research group has started to implement this software in its workflow. Next to this practical approach however there is also a need for a more theoretical analysis and eventualy clear description of a methodology. To explore the possibilities of this modular aproach between practise and theory, Joris Weijdom (head of the research group Virtual Theatre) has started an informal modern aproach of correspondence with Jochem Naafs. Jochem Naafs has a MA in New media and digital culture (Utrecht University) and is currently finishing a MA in Theatre studies. In his final project (thesis and internship) he is researching transdisciplinairy creative processes using the Actor Network Theory (ANT). Furthermore he is working for the Research Centre Theatre-Making Processes of Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU).
